Two updates

I received my acceptance to the Tasmanian Uni Course (see below).  Very excited.  Now awaiting my internet access and password, and can't wait to get started.  The course officially starts on the 22nd, but I have learnt one thing from my Uni studies in the past - START EARLY.  I always handed in my assignments etc on time because I started early, and avoided the problems if you start late, so that is my first tip.

In my research I recently came across a site called text Queensland  which holds searchable records from Queensland's past.  Of particular interest is the Pugh's Almanac, which is a bit like the Sydney Sands Directory.  So if you have ancestors in Queensland, this might help you track them down.  The site also has family histories, Genealogy Society booklets, Links to Government Gazettes, The Queenslander Newspaper 1866-1939, and more.

  2. Nice to her from you Jill. Really looking forward to the course and to meet some like-minded people online. After looking at quite a few courses, this looks the best. Hope to catch up with you. Cheers
