Trove Tip - Finding an exact name
Ever heard of the Tilde? It looks like this :

The use of the Tilde symbol in English goes back at least to the Doomsday Book when it was used to indicate something missing. Today is is used to indicate NEAR or AROUND.
When you are searching on Trove for an exact name use the following:

When you are searching on Trove for an exact name use the following:
"First Name Surname"~0
That sequence means find the two words next to (within 0 of) each
other.
Make sure you use the number zero and not the letter
O.
I often use this type of search as my 1st search, just in case I get lucky
and someone's name is recorded perfectly in the newspapers etc. It
will often bring up death notices or funeral notices. If a person has
a middle name change the zero to a one or two.
