Aust. National University has lots to offer

I recently discovered (via Pinterest, if you are not on it get on it!) the Open Research Archive of ANU.

This free digital archive has over 3000 photos of people, places and maps.  The maps section covers Papua New Guinea, the Pacific Islands and Asia.  Note: World is coming soon!  Here is an example of one of the Papua maps:

I cam across a company name I knew :"Elder Smith and Co" and in that section there are photos of all the people in WW2 who went to war and worked for the company - here are some examples:
There are sound recordings, oral histories and also quite an archive about Tooth and Co with information about NSW Hotels.  There are also collections about and from people of note.

To Search:  There is a box at the top of the page.

This is another archive to add to your list of possible places to search for information about your ancestors, places they lived or places they worked.
